October 15th - The Hardest Day of the Year

October 14, 2018

October 15th is the hardest day of the year. For a very large percentage of the nation/world this is the day that we remember pregnancy and infant loss. Did you know that 1 in 4 people have experienced this loss?

Join us and others on October 15th at 7:00PM by lighting a candle in remembrance of those that have gone on and for those that still remain on earth with a piece of their heart not with them. Use #WOL2018 on social media to share you light.

Many don't talk about the loss they have had. Many wear this loss on their sleeve. Former President Ronald Reagan says it like this:"When a child loses his parent, they are called an orphan. When a spouse loses her or his partner, they are called a widow or widower. When parents lose their child, there isn't a word to describe them".

On October 15th, we want to send a message of support for all of those affected by pregnancy and/or infant loss. Below are some great resources we've found that can help anyone in need on this tough day.

  1. How To Help Someone Who Had A Pregnancy Or Infant Loss.

    1. This article by Amy Klein is an excellent source for anyone that isn't sure how to approach this day or any day with a friend that has experienced loss.

  2. Infant Loss Organizations

    1. This source provides several different organizations that hare here to help those suffering or in need. This extends from parents losing a child to a sibling losing their brother or sister. These organizations are waiting to help you.

  3. Online Support Chats

    1. This is a resource for those that aren't ready to be public with their loss. First of all, we understand and are so happy that you are seeking support. This resource allows you to talk to someone. Simply to talk. We hope you can find peace in talking to someone.

  4. Pregnancy and Infancy Loss Directory

    1. This is exactly what the title says. A directory to allow anyone to find what they need in one location. If nothing else above hits home, we hope everyone can find what they need here.

Our message to everyone is BE KIND. You never know what someone is going through, even behind their big smile.

October 15th at 7:00PM. Light a candle for the 1 in 4 that have been affected. We remember.
